We decided to carry out the expertise because there were a lot of questions relating to the interface work. At the same time, the solutions offered by the designers and users were not considered to a full degree as it seemed from the third hand. Therefore, we decided to carry out the expertise during which the people specialized in it were able to find the soft spots and think over interface all the way through while considering all scenarios and project moments. The solutions imposed by the users are usually local ones. It means that the user may feel unfavorable in some definite situation, but the solution is caused by the particular business task. To the contrary, the solutions offered by designers may be favorable with due regard to the implementation, but not for users, companies and anybody at all.

We have been already working with Artem from 2011. Moreover, I like the interfaces they design. In my opinion, it is very rare combination of interfaces forethought, when the designer understands what this product is needed for, and beautiful realization.

Tell a few words about the work progress. Terms, interaction, response time?

We meet U-Expert employees and discuss the task. Thereafter, the description of this task and results of its realization (i.e. model) appeared in the project management system (basecamp). We envisage it, comment and pass to the designers for further implementation, if everything is ok.

Were you satisfied with such process?

Yes, and even more that satisfied, especially, when we were at the stage of conveyor, when the model may be used as the visual instruction or software documentation. The model features the clearly traced outlines and the comments to every element that defines the reaction on one or another action. It significantly simplifies the work. The model may be also used for presentation and writing of user manual. This is a thing that is always useful.

Say a few words about IDIC method that was used for usability expertise.

I can say nothing about IDIC method because this is an inner working, but I liked the result. I think that these are an adequate people and it’s the most important thing. There are many different nuances which are to be considered by the designer during his work. They were considered and I liked it.

What did you like most of all when working with U-Expert Company?

I liked the result of their work most of all. Besides, I like that company workers are nice people. 🙂 The result is surely important and this is a qualitative work!

If the company needs the simple web site without design, you are possible to find the specialists and do it. But in our case, it was important to consider the usability. The traffic ranking was required and we achieved it with the help of interface. On the one hand, it was user-friendly and on the other hand it provided an opportunity to carry out the certain tasks. In my opinion, the investments are covered because it is not needed to invest money in the advertisement later on promoting the product because everybody begins to use it. This is like Apple among mobile devices that may be used without a moment’s hesitation.
